Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Learning to take notes and use upper level thinking is something I try to teach all of my art students. We do this through a daily warm up including new vocabulary words, topics in art, various art images and exercises. These warm-ups become part of my classroom procedures!
I am in a school where most of my students have English as their second language.
Many are on free or reduced lunch and many have difficulties at home which create the necessity of a strong school with strong elective programs to keep them engaged in education! With language often a barrier, anything and everything I can do to increase and help with this skill is very important.
My Project
I am requesting a projector mount to mount to my ceiling in order to keep my cables and cords out of the way from students traveling around my classroom, often handling supplies such as paints, scissors or wet projects. Tripping on the cables is a problem we have had for a while and I have longed to have a safer environment for my students.
A projector cart takes up a lot of space in my classroom and I feel that the room will be opened up with the projector up and out of the way. It will also allow me the opportunity to place the projector in a location where all my students can SEE the information presented to them! This is a very important aspect to those wanting and needing to learn all that they can.
This projector mount is something that can be used wherever I might be teaching which allows for students all over to see and learn all the important topics I would like for them to know!
With the education and budget cuts happening in our area, we are very lucky to still have art classes throughout our district. This is important to me in order to keep my program strong and have students who all have the advantage of seeing what is presented to them. Thank you for making this become reality!
