My students need materials such as pencils, color pencils, and construction paper in order to enhance their learning in Social Studies through literacy and art.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are historians that work hard!! We are always excited and ready to expand our knowledge in Social Studies. Although our school is located in a high poverty area, we are truly lifelong learners.
Student interest is sparked when their background knowledge is enhanced by my lessons.
Many of the places we have discussed, they have never heard of. My students work hard in the classroom, they take pride in all of their work, and are willing to go above and beyond!
My Project
My students need materials such as pencils, color pencils, and copy paper in order to enhance their learning in Social Studies through writing and art. These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they will have many opportunities to extend their learning in historical topics in various ways. My students will be able to draw, color, and write reflections on historical events and worldviews.
The emphasis on art is great for our 21st-century learners, so the materials such as a copy paper for drawing or printing out their reflections is needed in the class.
The color pencils and pencils will be needed in order to express ideas, draw, color, and dive into history. The best way to increase hands-on skills is through creativity.
