My wonderful school is located in an urban neighborhood that, while large, manages to have a family feel. My students come from all over the world, including Bangladesh, Mexico, China, Yemen, and Russia, to name just a few countries.
As an art teacher, one of my responsibilities is to teach Pre-K arts and enrichment.
Daily, I take the Pre-K classes out of their classroom for all kinds of activities. We play sports, music, games, make art, and do table activities. The children build all kinds of important skills while having fun!
My Project
My students need toy fruit and vegetables for observational drawing as well as art/artist books. My children will use these books to learn about and engage in art of all varieties- painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, and more!
The books I am requesting will serve as inspiration and jumping off points for art projects.
Learning about artists is a key part of our art program. Art themed books are also used as motivation and enjoyment during class time.
The books I have requested include themes for projects the kids love, such as robots and dragons. I also requested some books that stretch the imagination, including one with the theme "What can you do with a scribble?"
Reading is an engaging way to introduce art concepts to young children!
