I serve in a diverse school district in East Tennessee. Over 3/4 of or student population qualifies for free or reduced lunches. We were the first elementary school in TN to receive STEM certification in 2016. As of 2017-2018 all of our schools have Advanced STEM Certifications. In 2016 we were chosen as one of 13 pilot schools for Read to be Ready summer program sponsored by our governor. Now our Read to Be Ready leaders help train other schools!
We have a building of children who love to read, and get excited about all things reading.
I am hoping by submitting projects and requesting supplies, I can more readily and easily accommodate their needs both as readers and as library patrons.
My Project
These books are filled with amazing illustrations that help tell their stories. Art is everywhere and we like to share beautiful picture books with our kids that are not only great literature, but help support the arts across the curriculum.
This selection of books will not only be used in the library during instruction, but they will be available for both students to check out and for teachers to use in their classrooms.
My kids love to read and they love art. I can't wait to get these great books into their hands! Thank you for supporting my library and my students.
