Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Testing, Reading, Math and more testing...,.When do we get time for enrichment? Our students really need to delve into the creative arts even more now that high stakes testing seems to be prevalent. But how am I supposed to supply and outfit my classroom with little or no funding?
My students are comprised of about 49% free and reduced lunch.
We are a school that thrives on weaving the arts through STEM activities but finding funding to support my arts enrichment has been a challenge in the past year. funding is down and my students really need to continue these hands on learning experiences.
My Project
I chose to call this project "ART A LA CARTE" because that is exactly what it is. It is a little of this and a little of that to help my classroom in areas that we are lacking. Sometimes its the little things that really help. Markers, glue, card stock, beads for embellishing a clay mask-all wonderful elements that can be used in many projects , not just one.
With your help, my students can continue to thrive in one of the very few moments each day they are allowed to be totally creative.
So often they are driven hard and long hours in the core classrooms that they really need the creative avenues. Creativity is truly our next generations best quality to offer yet we do not allow it flourish enough. Help my students to flourish!
