Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I serve are 5 and 6 year old that come from a low socioeconomic home and are eager to learn and explore the world as much as they can. My tiny humans show up to class everyday happy and eager to learn despite what they have faced at home. This school year we are creating a community of learners through diverse literature where they are noticing the characters, location and cultural expressions within books we have already learned.

One of our favorite things to do is read books that expose us to cultures around the world.

These exposures are opportunities for higher level teaching and learning that we strive to create in any way possible.

My Project

These books depict courage, strength, and love that people all over the world face. These stories will help my students become avid readers and writers while learning that the struggles and difficulties in life are all part of a path leading to an extraordinary life.

This books will act to my students as mirrors, for themselves, or as a window, into someone else's world that they don't know about through higher levels of critical thinking.

At the end of the day these books will expose my students to learn about an ever changing world that faces struggles on a daily base.
