This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students need access to maps almost daily in our classroom. They use them to locate daily current events, and they refer to maps during the study of various topics and units. Many students will attempt to find locations on one of the two maps (World and US) we have posted in the classroom. However, this is difficult when there are several students attempting to find a specific location all at once. The atlases will allow the students to find related locations without crowding around the class maps, and they will also provide experience using maps which is a skill often lacking.
