My Students

"May I please do extra math?" This question brings a smile to my face every time I hear it. My students have four computers to use for extra skills practice and they need an iPad to improve our pupil to technology ratio. One more device would make it possible for daily skills practice.

I have 45 enthusiastic fifth and sixth grade students.

We are in a small rural district in western Nebraska. My students have a wide range of abilities and all students benefit from extra skills practice. My students are highly motivated by the opportunity to use technology in learning.

My Project

My students will be able to use the iPad apps for practice on specific skills to increase fluency and automaticity. I will be able to use the iPad with my Apple TV. That will allow me to move about the room as I am instructing and totally transform my classroom instruction. Currently I am using a wired system and it is difficult to move among students while displaying information from my computer or document camera.

This iPad will allow students of all abilities to find excitement in very necessary skills practice, and it will allow me to be able to move among the students, identify which students need help and assist them immediately if they don't understand the concept.
