My students need an iPad for mobile technology. Learning would be much more efficient if the teacher could travel to the student with an iPad.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are diverse, brilliant, hard-working, and simply adorable. Most of our students come from low-income families, and many have lived through traumatic life experiences. Almost all of our students (if not all) are from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, so they really appreciate and take good care of anything that is given to them. Regardless of their many battles, our kids are resilient and eager to learn.
Our school has a high attendance rate.
Not only to our kids enjoy coming to school, but they also give their best effort every day. I often find myself shooing them out of class. Sometimes it's even difficult to get them to stop working, so we can have a little fun at the end of the day.
Most of our students have come from parts of the world where life is very hard. It's refreshing and inspiring to see children who still appreciate the gift of a pencil or an eraser. They want very much to succeed in school, and it melts my heart to see their appreciation in even the tiniest things. My greatest joy is to give them all that I can to help them be successful.
My Project
Despite having a limited number of student computers, we integrate technology well into our curriculum. Students complete assignments with different types of Google Applications, through screencasts, and on platforms like Edmodo and Classroom.
Our classroom a highly collaborative classroom environment where students and teacher work side-by side, so we need an Ipad that will allow the teacher to come to the student.
When students need help, they have to travel to the teacher with computer and books in tow. This interrupts their workflow, and is difficult for them to do, since they're still quite small. We need the Ipad so that the teacher can interact with the student through the various programs that are used in the classroom. Our teacher computer is old, and cannot be disconnected or moved, because it freezes quite often.
An Ipad would make learning more accessible, collaboration more efficient, and our classroom more productive. It would also make learning more engaging, because the improved technology would allow us to use a multitude of programs that our current technology can't handle.
We are bursting with excitement at the prospect of having our very own classroom Ipad. Thank you very much for your generosity and support!
