My students love to learn. They are kind-hearted, driven, and energetic learners representing various backgrounds that make our classroom a diverse community of learners.
Everyone is a reader, a writer, a scientist, or a mathematician.
Some, just haven't realized it yet!
Every child in our classroom deserves to feel loved, listened to, cared for and safe. We strive each and every day to build a community that does just that. At our school, we do whatever we can to reach each student, every day!
My Project
Our society is changing and so our schools must support students through those changes. This project will provide 39 picture books with stories focused on understanding emotions, regulating reactions, the emotional wellbeing of ourselves and others, showing compassion, and seeing positivity in ourselves and our world.
Elementary-aged children have big feelings that they don't always know what to do with.
It is my job to teach them. It is important that I provide my students with literature that will encourage positive social-emotional growth. These read-aloud texts will be used for daily reading and as prompts for discussing our feelings and actions with each other.
