My Students

The possibilities are endless for those with computers in a technological world! We want to join them and expand our learning. Help me make a difference by contributing to a new classroom computer!

My 42 students this year are absolutely amazing!

They are energetic, rambunctious, and eager to learn. I can see the inspiration in their eyes when we talk about new subjects. They make teaching a joy and deserve the best I can give them. What I would really love to give them is a new computer, so we can integrate technology into our lessons more often. Our current computer is very slow and does not have the ability to do things like create movies, run educational games, and so on. I know our school administrators would purchase new computers if the money was available, but it's not. Our school is high poverty, but I believe we do a great job of using what we have to make learning fun. However, a new computer would really make that job easier.

My Project

This project request consists of a desktop computer and monitor for our classroom. This would enable my students to participate in word processing for writing, skills games, educational movie creation, Internet research, and many other activities. We are full of ideas but need resources to support them! Future project requests would involve software to expand the capabilities of our new computer. Won't you help us transform the technology in our classroom?

The best effect of having this project funded is that students will have access to information and learning they never did before.

Many of the students do not have computers at home and find themselves behind their other more technologically advanced peers. This will give them the opportunity to do a little catching up and develop some much needed skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives. That alone is an amazing accomplishment.
