My students are in the fourth grade at a California elementary school. Our school is on one hundred percent free lunch due to our community's high poverty status. My students are eager kids who love to learn. They ask a lot of questions and are leaders on campus.
My students are learning about different cultures.
They are excited to learn about the experiences and lifestyles of people unlike themselves. I also want to show them how different people can be alike in many ways and that different countries participate in many different kinds of sporting events.
Team sports help children learn a variety of lessons that they will carry throughout their lives.
Friendship, camaraderie, cooperation, teamwork, and leadership skills, those are just a few of the things my students can develop while participating in team sports!
The teachers and staff at my school have volunteered their time to coach team sports and I will be coaching one of the fourth-grade flag football teams. We need flag football equipment to participate in practices and games, specifically 2 flag belt sets, 2 footballs, and an officiating kit. I am excited to be part of this program and feel it is long overdue. Being part of a team is a great feeling and I can't wait for tryouts! I want my kids to learn about good sportsmanship and inclusivity and also have fun!!
