Our school is in a low socioeconomic area and supplies are limited, but seriously needed. I have a big range of students from high achieving to special needs, as well as English Language Learners. Because of this range, I need a variety of materials to reach all my students.
I love my students and they try so hard with what we have.
My students have been able to adapt, but it would be great to have the materials they need.
My Project
Flexible seating is something that I have been trying out in my classroom for a couple of years now. I feel that it is a good idea to let the students choose how they sit and where they sit to make their learning environment more comfortable. I think flexible seating will improve my students' motivation to learn and it gives them a say in how they learn.
It would be great to have a wider array of flexible seating options for the students to choose from.
In our class so far, we have carpet squares, small cushions, and a few stools. I have collected these throughout the years using personal funds. We have not had enough school funding for these "optional" items and when we do receive funds, they have to go toward basic and much needed school supplies. Please help us expand our seating needs.
