My students need help with learning proper intonation for their instruments and individual timing technique. Tuners help visualize their phrases to increase chances of correct intonation.

My Students

I enjoy being able to teach 175 students the joy of music every day. As a band director, I get to watch these students grow to be incredible people and musicians all at the same time. I teach them the value of creativity, team work, self discipline, and self confidence while teaching them how to play a musical instrument. My students are energetic, excited and passionate about music just as much as I am and they make me want to come to school every day.

In a rural community, many of my students can not afford the best materials and our school is not able to provide quality equipment like some other schools in neighboring districts.

They understand the value of hard work and dedication, even when they must overcome challenges to make it happen. Our community latches on to these kids!

My Project

This band program is one of kind. I see my kids overcome challenges, I see them struggle, I see them succeed. Students come from all walks of life to learn music and work together to create something so much bigger than they are.

Basic materials, like tuners and metronomes are a necessity in the band world.

Most of my kids can not afford their own. Providing these materials gives students a chance to improve their technique. Tuners assist in learning intonation and tuning within the ensemble. Metronomes help establish basic beat feel and individual timing technique. These materials will help my students push themselves to a higher level.
