My students enter the Art Room excited and eager to create. This year I would like my 5th Graders to have more choice in what they do. I would like the Art Room to become their Studio. Having different art materials set up for them would allow them to:
-Create art based on their interests.
-Discover a new art material or tool.
-Engage in collaborative art with a friend.
Fifth Graders are curious and creative. I know they will love this opportunity to immerse themselves in a project of their choosing, especially when there are more supplies to choose from.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door. I’m including Choice Based Art for my 5th Graders this year. This means that they will be able to choose what they want to do and how they want to do it.
The Keva Planks and especially the LEGO Architecture Studio will enable them to delve into 3D architecture along with the 2D projects we already work on.
The Zippy Looms will be a wonderful addition to our Fiber Arts unit.
The addition of theses items, along with what I already have, will allow me to make studio centers that they can choose to go to.
