Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Today's students are tomorrow's world leaders. It is so important for students to understand that choices we make directly impact our environment. These materials will motivate them to learn about different biomes and ways to protect them.
I teach 25 fifth graders in all subject areas.
Our school serves a large population of high-need students and our class includes special needs children as well as English Language Learners. Despite the daily obstacles that our children face, they are incredibly resilient and hungry for knowledge. We embrace challenges. Our kids are driven to improve themselves and our world.
My Project
By taking care of the aquarium, the students will have a genuine connection to our science lessons and they will take ownership in learning about ways to protect the environment. Students will gain an understanding of how humans can have both positive and negative impacts on the planet. It is up to us to make a difference! Students will also conduct research projects about the major biomes of the world and present their findings to younger grade levels in hopes of inspiring them to be environmental advocates as well.
Your contribution will greatly enhance the educational opportunity for students that are at a disadvantage due to economical circumstances.
It is critical for our kids to gain skills necessary to compete in the 21st century! These supplies and books will ensure that our children are immersed in a science-rich environment. Just imagine all of the environmental concepts they'll be motivated to explore!
