Help me give my students hard copy reference and practice materials to facilitate Spanish language practice at home in this new virtual/hybrid learning environment.
My Spanish class students come from all different backgrounds with all different learning abilities. Our school is in a small community where many of their parents also attended school in the district. Many of my students like to have hands-on and real-world experiences with their language learning. They are very excited to find new ways to practice and use their language skills. Many of these students are experiencing the Spanish language for the first time. They are eager to learn more and to see how Spanish can be useful in the community.
My Project
These materials will be used to make an at-home resource and practice workbook for students who are starting their Spanish language learning. This hybrid/virtual environment does not give the students enough practice using the Spanish language. The other issue which I have seen students struggle with is trying to use the online resources while working on assignments. Students find it difficult to toggle between screens and programs. Many households do not have the ability to print material and if they do, then the organization can also be an issue for middle schoolers.
The binding supplies will enable me to send home units of resources and practice activities that may not translate well to the online environment.
This will provide the hands-on practice that many students require and do not receive from computer learning.
