My Students

Technology is everywhere. It surrounds us in our daily lives and students need to be able to have access to it on a daily basis.

I teach 18 4th graders in a Title One school in South Carolina.

Most of my kids come from low income families that have limited access to resources and engaging academic opportunities. This year has been such an adventure! I have enjoyed learning with my students as the year has progressed. They are soaking up the material like sponges and they have such a hunger to know more!

My Project

There are so many apps available to use with this iPad mini. I would love to use the "level it" app to create a check in/check out system for my classroom library. This would aid students in learning responsibility and help foster a culture of independence in my classroom. I intend on using the "class dojo" app for a behavior management tool. It awards students for positive behavior and rewards them with points. I use this to point out students who are being role models. I already use this in my classroom but if I had the iPad mini, I could use the system as we travel through the school. Students would also be able to use apps for multiplication, reading strategies, and spelling. It would be a great tool to have.

I would like for you to consider donating to my project.

Not only would it impact the 18 students that I teach now but it would impact future students that I will teach. Technology plays such a large role in the world that we live in. Please give my students an opportunity to use such a great resource in the classroom each day.
