This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are eager to learn a new concept as long as it involves hands-on or technology. In the classroom, we have inadequate devices to reach the student population. Many of them do not have access at home due to their economic status.
Ninety-seven percent of the students are currently receiving free or reduced-rate lunches at school.
Many of the students have difficulty completing their iReady usage in the classroom. They need the Chromebooks and the science kits to learn now concepts. The Chromebooks will give them opportunity to achieve their weekly goal on iReady and increase their academic performance by a greater percentage. These materials will help to facilitate learning throughout the year. Moreover, the students will assist students to perform better in class. With that, it will make learning more receptive and fascinating.
My Project
I am requesting Chromebooks and science kits to benefit my students. Nearly 60% of the students are working below their level of proficiency. I believe my students will perform better if they have access to these resources in the classroom. They need consistency as they practice their lacking skills using technology to fully close their learning gap. These materials will not only enhance the math and science skills for all the students but will also provide opportunity to become independent problem solvers as they do in real-life experiences.
Having the Chromebooks in the classroom will enhance students' learning throughout the year.
Like I stated earlier, the students will utilize the Chromebooks and science kits daily during small group instruction to boost their knowledge in specific skills and apply what they learned to empower other students.
