This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students face challenges everyday in their lives. Most of them come to school for a safe place in their neighborhood. They come from a low economic background and most are from single parent homes. But as a school we don't let these setbacks stop us of achieving our goal of learning and becoming better people.

The students in my school are determined and hard workers.

If they are given the right tools and supports there is no reason why they can not achieve there dreams.

My Project

As a teacher having access to the internet is huge, having a laptop to do research, to find games and activities to help students with gaps in their learning and keep them engaged in the lesson. For my social studies classes, pictures and charts can be easily displayed from the laptop to the projector. Students can explore maps and pictures of other people from all over the world with different cultures.

My current computer in my classroom is outdated and a lot of the interactive attention grabbing curriculum just is not available to my students.

Giving me access to a laptop will provide the class with access to internet based learning activities.
