This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I serve 35 Special Education students with a wide variety of needs in grades 3-5. My students are positive, hardworking students who always try their best. They live in rural Eastern North Carolina and do not always have access to 21st-century materials. Our school is a Title I school, with school-wide free lunch. My students are kind and loving kids who deserve the opportunity to develop crucial math and reading skills that are so vital in the world that we live in.
My Project
An iPad will help meet the individual needs of my students in my EC classroom. The iPads will be an alternative way for my special learners to access and complete assignments. With the iPads students can create projects for all subject areas and present them to their class. The iPads will be used to help my EC students have access to alternative learning methods while remaining in the general education classroom with their non disabled peers. Overall, this project allows my special education students to feel apart of the whole student body by giving them an equal opportunity to learn.
