Coming from a low income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with many challenges and hardships both inside and outside of the classroom. I serve students that come from low economic backgrounds, where nearly every student is classified as socioeconomically disadvantaged. In addition, we also serve a large number of students learning English.
My students have dealt with such traumatizing experiences in their young lives, and I find it my duty to ensure they have a safe place to learn and better their lives during the school day.
Despite their rough backgrounds, my students have the sweetest hearts. They really enjoy expressing themselves through games, projects, and hands-on learning. Although we are a small school, we put a heavy focus on credit recovery. We act as a last step for students to better their grades and better their lives. Our district works diligently to keep our students off the streets and in the classroom, and it is my goal to help them find joy in learning and create a meaningful, successful future for themselves.
Students in my classes are often looking for ways to improve their hard skills. Students want to not only learn theory, but they are looking for a focus on skills that they can take with them to careers.
I am looking to implement a lot of hands on projects through digital technology and we need an Apple Pencil to help us get on the road to digital independence.
My students will benefit so much from this Apple Pencil and the case for the pencil because they will be able to learn more about using digital tools to help their learning and skill building.
We can use this tool in a number of activities and lessons both inside and outside of the classroom. With the number of apps available on the iPad, an Apple Pencil can be used through any subject!
