My students need an iPad to help them update their online portfolios and take more ownership in what learning they find meaningful to share with their loved ones.

I have had the privilege of teaching some amazing little ones in a high needs elementary school for eight years. I love what I do, but want to help instill a sense of pride in my little ones and teach them that what they do matters and to be proud of who they are.
Many of the students come in on their first day of school with so many basic needs that need to be met before I can even begin teaching academic skills.
I want to be able to give them all of the experiences that I can while meeting those basic needs as best as I can.
My students are why I come to work every day.
I have always taught in an inclusive Kindergarten classroom and although I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Exceptional Children, I feel like all of what I know I've learned from my students. I don't believe in static teaching, every child is different-every year is different! My kiddos are kind, creative, and excited about learning new things!
Kindergarteners are so excited, funny, and always proud of their work! Unfortunately, Kindergarteners also tend to put that delicious cupcake from snack time in their backpack with their prized class project or they go home to a new puppy and forgot how excited they were to show their family what they did during the school day. There are so many things that get in the way of showing off what they know and what they are creating!
By adding an iPad in my classroom, students will be able to share their work through a student-led digital portfolio on ClassDojo.
This platform allows any family member or family friend that connects with our classroom to see the pictures and videos of work that their child shares to their portfolio. It not only gives more ownership to my kiddos by allowing them to show what they are proud of, but it also gives parents something to look back to when their little one is all grown up!
