My students are very hard working and creative artists. They love working with their hands and creating art. They really love when I can demonstrate step by step drawing directions which is impossible with the new in school restrictions.
My school is in Bridgeport CT and is a Title One school where all students qualify for free lunch.
Over five days, four hundred and fifty students have art class with me. We have a small art budget and big creative minds.
My Project
Students will be able to showcase their work for all the class. When they create or are working on a drawing program, they can use the iPad pencil and iPad to display their actual work in real time for the class. This will facilitate students learning to describe and present their original work. In a world where paper is a highly esteemed resource, it would be of great benefit to the students to have at their disposal, an apple pencil and accompanying iPad that would allow them to explore drawing and shading and using different styles of writing and drawing without actually using or touching a pen and paper.
As I continue to integrate the arts into the curriculum at my school, it is imperative that these students have equal opportunities to engage with and practice tools that are part of mainstream society.
These tools will be used in the high schools and job arena in the future and I will have a major impact in preparing them with this resource.
You will see at the conclusion the multiple ways that this will be used in the classroom! When I post the pictures at the close of the projects, students will highlight the amazing skills they have learned, and you can be confident that your donation was well spent! Thank you for helping me to creatively engage my students in the arts with the iPad pro!
