Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 16 students who are all English learners. Ducor is a community where socioeconomic status is in low poverty.
Most of my kids love to learn from Chromebooks using online learning programs where they can "level up".
Some examples of sites include "Prodigy, Acellus, Nat Geo, and ERS library". All of these are important because they have features for parents, and teachers to check individual progress. This is significant to this essay because I am interested in purchasing technology for instructional purposes.
Students are often engaged through technology with videos, behavior management apps such as class dojo.
My Project
I would greatly benefit the IMAC computer because I am in my second year of teaching and in an intern program called BITSA.
Throughout my first year of BITSTA I am required to attend seminars through the county for an hour a week.
I also attend online workshops with my mentor once a week, as well as attend training (professional development classes) through the county.
Recently, I've taken a CAFE webinar for another reading program I do in the class. I am able to communicate virtually which has helped me learn a reading program that I personally had an interest in.
During these frequent classes, I’d like to take notes via iPad and I pencil. I have found it difficult to close the seminar and open notes while at a conference. Using an iPad will assist me in note-taking and keeping all notes in the cloud. I would benefit as a teacher by giving myself access to taking and locating notes online.
