This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach Reading Intervention to 200 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. My school is located in Northeast Ohio. The children in our school come from all walks of life and have experienced things that some people can only imagine. 100% of the students in my school are on Free or Reduced lunches. Despite it all, they walk into the classroom with smiles on their faces, ready to learn, and genuinely happy to be in school. These students are excited to become better readers and writers.
My Project
Being able to have 4 iPads will truly benefit my school. Teachers will be able to download apps that will help their students become 21st century learners. They will also be able to have their students use our district’s online curriculum! Teachers will be able to borrow them for use in their classrooms or during center time!
Today there are thousands of jobs we can’t fill because people aren’t tech savvy.
In twenty years when our kindergartens become adults, I want them to be able to fill these jobs. The only way they will have success, is by being exposed to the latest technology now. I don’t want our students situations in life to prevent them from having everything they need for success.
