Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our elementary students are outstanding scholars who persevere every day. Our school motto is, "The best school in the district!" Our school is dedicated to preparing our students for college and life. Our network mission is to create and sustain public schools of excellence that empower students to reach their highest potential in college and the global marketplace. We want to inspire in students a lifelong love of learning, achievement, and service in order to positively change their world.
Our school is nestled in the heart of the California Inland Empire, which has families that are homeless, low-income, gang-ridden, and unemployed.
This puts a tremendous strain on our students due to the issues they face at home. Despite these issues, our students come to school every day, ready and eager to learn!
My Project
Help me upgrade our listening center. With these new Apple Airpods we will be able to have a read-a-loud center using our own iPads. We have access to ipads in our community so having a chance to use Airpods will enhance the listening time with digital books. We often ask our families to participate and read at home so we want our scholars to get used to using individual listening tools because their family homes are often very noisey. The social emotional tools include a slinky for seat work and Connect 4 for collaboration.
