My students need an Apple TV to increase learning interests while improving access with curriculum, educational tools, current and new information, as well as bringing the big world into our small classroom.
I am stoked to begin my third year with Kindergarteners! They are such compact, animated creatures full of wonder, discovery, kindness, and helpfulness. My students are diverse in learning styles and backgrounds.
In our school, 100% of the 630+ students can receive FREE lunch.
Families are working multiple jobs to provide but struggle to make ends meet. This leads to little or no time to familiarize their kids with the awesomeness of the public library. It also means that many of our students sadly do not have resources at home. For the majority, my classroom is their only chance to have regular access to educational technology and books.
My Project
For the past two years, I was lucky enough to have had experience borrowing an Apple TV for my classroom. It was a game changer! My students were more involved and motivated with lessons via the Apple TV compared to old fashioned written out charts. Each school year the incoming class is familiar with technology and often has short attention spans. Brain and body movement breaks were utilized with it too! The Apple TV was a super tool to introduce the kids to the big world without overwhelming them while keeping them safe.
An Apple TV in my classroom means more interest, more teaching, more learning, and less wasted time.
I can quickly access our digital curriculum, as well as educational videos and teacher created documents via Google Drive. It will eliminate prep time squandered by writing out innumerable charts and save trees by reducing paper copies. Having the ability to display ideas on a big screen almost instantly improves classroom management, less time wasted redirecting off task students.
