This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Many of our students are bused in to attend a better district and top notch education. Our seniors have been accepted to over 48 institutions and received close to $2 million is scholarship money. Many of them will be first-generation college students and not only completed applications, but were able to complete their FAFSA and other college documents with limited support at home. They will be embarking on this college journey and we are trying our best to prepare them.
My Project
College is hard! Attending college is hard especially when you are not prepared. Helping our students be able have the grunt work completed with being able to win a refrigerator and microwave to eat their food when they are not able to make it to the cafe or if they are unable to afford one of the unlimited meal plans at the school. Having a laptop would assist them being able to complete their work for school during times they are not able to access the computer lab due to weather or their availability. No matter what you donate, you will be assisting our students with their education.
