Help me give my students magnetic white boards, magnetic letters, sight words, word families and vowel team flashcards and write wipe markers to help them build solid foundation in reading.
My twenty-two students are Apache Native Americans from low income family. Some of them live with their aunts or grandparents. They appreciate little things that they received. Currently, we are having virtual classes due to increase of COVID-19 cases in their place.
My Project
The magnetic boards and letters will give my students the practice they need to master word building, one sound at a time. The magnetic set includes 35 lowercase consonants and 13 lowercase vowels - all color-coded to make word building a breeze. The sight words flashcards will provide lots of skill-building practice. Each card has a sight-word on front, plus a sentence on back showing the word in context. The set includes 95 cards that feature common sight-words children will encounter every day and eventually they will learn to use the sight words on their own sentences. The markers will be used for them to practice spelling and writing words and sentences and at the same time it can be used in Math prcatice skills.
