AP US Government Review Books

My students need 40 copies of an AP US Government and Politics review book.

Hooray! This project is fully funded

I teach at a public, mixed suburban and urban 4 year high school in Nevada. I teach 10th grade Honors World History and 12th grade AP US Government and Politics. My school is a "minority majority" school, meaning that white students make up approximately 40% of our student body. Our students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.

With the economic free fall in Nevada, our students have less money to spend on review materials for their AP exams. Budget cuts have removed any ability for the school to pay for supplemental materials for students.

With this project, it is my hope to help students prepare for the AP US Government and Politics exam in May 2010. There were two obstacles: insufficient funding (both from the school and from parents) to provide students with review materials and the cost of the AP test itself. This project addresses the first obstacle, the second will either be addressed through a second project or individual student fundraising.

By supporting this project, you will help ensure that my students have the necessary resources to review for the AP US Government and Politics exam. The AP Government and Politics exam suffers from one of the lowest average scores of any AP exam. It is my goal to help as many students pass as possible, and this project will help me achieve that goal.
