I currently teach AP Statistics at a high school in San Francisco, CA. My students are hard working and diligent in their efforts to succeed and learn statistics. They are a joy to teach. Almost all of them qualify for reduced or free lunch. The AP Statistics class is a challenging subject, but a successful score on the AP Test can provide college credits. What's even more challenging for my students is that the AP Statistics test is a very wordy course. It is challenging even for those who are native speakers. My class is primarily populated with non-native speakers. Therefore, they need lots of practice to prepare them for the test. My request is for AP practice test books to help them prepare for the test. While I have lots of resources and we have a solid textbook, they need an opportunity for more varied problems and explanations. Since our school budget was reduced this year and will be even further reduced next year, the school can not fund the purchase of these books. We had so much success last year with AP Statistics last year, that our enrollment in the class almost doubled from 32 to over 50. So far, I have received 30 books generous donors like yourself, now I just need 25 more for the rest of my students. Your generosity will help them by providing a much needed source of additional problems and explanations and hopefully help them fund much need college credits. Thank you.
