My students need five HP laptops and a printer in order to research, write, and collaborate on their AP Capstone projects because the majority of this particular AP class takes place online.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our unique arts school is nestled in the middle of Florida, and we have 8 different majors students can choose from when they audition to get into the school: dance, drama, visual art, band, orchestra, jazz, and creative writing. If you were to walk the halls of our school at any given moment, you would hear music bouncing off of the walls, see students practicing dance routines, and watch as visual artists hang their newest framed pieces on the walls.
Our school is truly a sight to be seen and heard!
The students at our school come from all different walks of life, but they all have one thing in common: they are driven to succeed. Our students are also very academically driven, and they know that being well rounded in both their art area and their academics is what is going to set them apart. Students and teachers alike spend hours upon hours together to make sure that our students are prepared for that college audition and have the best version of their college essay ready to submit.
My Project
Our AP Capstone program desperately needs ways to access up-to-date information on our research projects. Most of our students do not have their own laptops, so the classroom is where most of their research takes place. Unfortunately, we do not have enough laptops for every student in the class.
With these five laptops and printer, the AP Capstone students will be able to access scholarly databases with peer-reviewed sources in order to solve some of the worlds major problems while simultaneously earning college credit.
The students in this class will be able to write their research papers, collaborate with their teams to present on their research, and submit their AP Capstone exam into the College Board Digital Portfolio.
