Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Each year we have students that sign up for Advanced Placement courses. These courses are more rigorous than regular courses. In addition to the rigorous curriculum, students have an opportunity to get college credit! What better way to save money! If the students score a well, then they will not have to take the course when they enroll in college!

When the students have what they need to be successful, they can feel confident when working on their assignments.

Having the right tools will go a long way for our students.

My Project

Students in AP Bio, Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus can use the rulers and calculators to complete questions that require calculations and formulas.

Some students do not have functioning items on their own and it makes it hard for them to be able to complete the assignments in a timely fashion.

Also, having a calculator allows them to go back and check their work for accuracy.

Having the basic tools can inflate a student's confidence when working on a math calculation or a science formula. Having the right tools can set a student up for success beyond their wildest dreams and prepare them for college.

Our classroom was affected by Hurricane Harvey.
