Every week I explore art with 600 students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. I am so lucky to have such a variety of students in my art room that come from different social backgrounds, have different learning styles, and are all creative in such unique ways. My classes are enthusiastic, curious, and very active in the art making and art learning processes. We are understanding what it means to be an artist by being persistent, creative, and empathetic.
Every year as they grow and learn, I am continually am blown away with their growth not only as artists, but as they are becoming their own unique and special individuals.
My goal as their art teacher is to provide opportunities for my students to enrich themselves while learning about art and the creative world that surrounds them.
My Project
This school year took an unfortunate turn which lead to no new art supplies for my art room that welcomes over 600 students every week from grades kindergarten to fifth grade. To fulfill our goal of creating as many differentiated art making opportunities, our students need your help by supplying us with simple craft supplies like yarn, Model Magic, some construction paper, and some paint.
It doesn't seem like much, but as growing artists, we can make a little go a long way with our imaginations and creativity!
Any help is appreciated. I am hoping to maintain a 'normal' school year, filled with lots of art making memories and wonderful experiences that aren't hindered by a lack of art supplies.
