"What are we doing today?" My students are always excited about hands-on labs and activities in Science class. This year we have fully implemented the Next Generation Science Standards, and students are always excited to do the engineering design labs, science activities, and online interactive activities we have incorporated.
My students are proud to be Wildcats!
They attend junior high school in California, where we strive to provide them the best education. Our school has the highest academic ranking in our county for Language Arts and Math, and there is a strong sense of family and community involvement.
My Project
These materials will assist my students in learning about antibiotics and their role in the lives of humans. Students will cultivate bacteria safely on a petri dish and then use the antibiotic discs to determine which will be the most effective in fighting the bacteria.
Students will learn about the nervous system by studying and labeling the regions of the sheep brain.
This will be followed by dissection of the "normal" brain. Students will have to determine what has caused a list of symptoms to occur in a patient, followed by dissection of a sheep brain with a tumor or stroke simulation.
