Anti-Racist, Engaging Materials, and Sensory Tools
Help me give my students accessible learning materials that utilize the diverse interest of students. I works as a special education preschool teacher and these books and materials help me enhance equity across all learners.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
As a special education preschool teacher my students have a diverse set of interests, such as outer space rockets ships, camping in the dramatic play area and learning to build during sensory play or as an architect. These materials will support our students learning in social emotional development on how to take turns and also how to join and sustain play. This is an important skill in developing and maintaining relationships.
As a preschool teacher, I am passionate about anti-racist and equity focused books and materials, these books help me supplement our curriculum and teach our students about our history and what is happening today so that they have the skills to say something and do something when there are injustices in the world.
