Help me give my students a set of Spanish Scholastic Magazines for the entire year, that way they will be involved in the Hispanic Culture and learn more Spanish!
My students are from middle and high school. They are really interested to learn Spanish because some of them think that it is the best way to have a better job in the future, and others because they are interested in traveling.
What I like about my students is that they want to learn about other cultures.
Being Colombian, I can provide personal anecdotes and historical information on Spanish culture.
They will want to use what I taught them in their future, and my personal experiences can shed light on different cultures and ideas.
Based on a Stanford study, a person who speaks 3 or more languages holds the same power as someone with a Master degree. That is a big motivator for why I want them to be able to speak Spanish.
My Project
There are 6 sets of Spanish Scholastic Magazines for each student during the year. Based on each article/magazine, students will be reading, talking, writing and listening in Spanish. They will be in complete immersion in the Hispanic Culture, learning history and news from other countries.
By your donation not only are you helping students be more focused on learning the language, you ultimately are helping to increase their curiosity and their effort to learn more and more!!
Students will be using the magazines in the classroom as well at home by sharing with parents and other siblings. Magazines have activities that help them to understand and learn more. The teacher is going to create different ways to enrich the learning by using the materials. The program has technology-used activities to motivate students to increase students participation in class.
