Help me give my students a long term memory of their exceptional accomplishment on their District test by giving them a commemorative t-shirt where I will heat-transfer the design that says "Anne Frank 100 Club" on it.
Although financial distress is a constant in most of my students' households, they are eager to soak up any knowledge that is available to them. I'm privileged to teach the children of Hispanic immigrants who are very familiar with the consequences of financial illiteracy. Struggling to put a meal on their table, parents work harder and harder, so their children can have a better life, then the one with which they were presented.
These little sponges come into my classroom and pour their heart and soul into every academic endeavor.
They know the sacrifices their parents make so they can have a better future. The most impressive thing I see is how my students appreciate any gesture of kindness. Children should only worry about children's things, but they are too close to the problem not to get sucked in. I think that is one of the reasons why they are so intentional in doing their best and succeeding during their educational experiences.
The first grade students this year did an exceptional job on their district semester exam. For that reason I think it would be fitting to give them a wonderful reminder of this great accomplishment. I would love to provide them with a t-shirt that says "Anne Frank 100 Club" which signifies their high achievement level.
Hard work pays off!
And these students definitely earned the recognition. Some of these students came to first grade without knowing their numbers or even the letters of the alphabet. For them to receive a nearly perfect score on their test is an incredible achievement.
As a bilingual teacher, I witness how hard it was for them to reach the point of independence that resulted in the exceptional show of knowledge. General Education and Bilingual students performed with all they had. Please help me give these students a constant reminder of their hard work.
