Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a pilot school and students, teachers, parents, administrators, and community members work together to create a great learning environment. My students are English language learners who live in the inner city, and most are from low-income families.
Most of the students do not have a place to play once they get home.
We focus on giving students the opportunity to get physical activity every day. In this school, our focus is to create students that are hardworking, respectful, self-motivated young people who are eager to learn and be the best they can be in life!
My Project
Students will complete a research project on an animal of their choice. Students will then create a diorama of their animal within their habitat. The diorama will include other animals and plants that might be found within the habitat in order to demonstrate an understanding of animal habitats and environmental adaptations. We'll use the HP color ink cartridges to print out our pictures and information.
These requested National Geographic Readers books are an excellent resource to help students become excited about their animal.
This is a culminating activity in which students will research and build on their prior knowledge of animals and their habitats. Students will present their animal and habitat to their classmates. This is a project where the students are engaged and excited to learn.
