Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a STEM-based charter school where 74% of our students qualify for free or reduced price lunches. Recently, we were also impacted by Hurricane Irma which caused roof damage to many of our classrooms as well as my students' homes. Many of my students' families were out of work for more than two weeks which has also put a big strain on them financially.

My students will increase their knowledge of animal defense, as well as increasing their comprehension.

With high motivation and engagement in the use of the books my students will be excited strengthen their reading and research skills.

My Project

I am requesting a class set of Animal Defense. By providing our class with this resources, my students will be able to read and enjoy authentic informational literature. The informational text will enable us to not have to use our boring basal series textbooks. Students will be mastering comprehension skills that are learned in 4th grade

By using novels that the students can relate to, it will make reading class more enjoyable for them!

I want my students to enjoy reading and increase their knowledge of real world sitatuations, which this is their chance! Thank you for your blessings! We really appreciate it!
