Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Teaching Animal Compassion brings awareness to students, their families, and the community regarding how important it is to treat animals with compassion. Students need to be taught what "Compassion" is. What it looks like. There are a number of endangered animals nationally, and globally, that need to be preserved and rescued each year as well. We will discuss this topic. U.S. zoos and animal sanctuaries help preserve our planet''s animals. We all need to be responsible, and it begins with Compassion.
I teach Art at a Title I school that is 100% poverty.
My students, grades K-5, are an eclectic group of vibrant and energetic learners. They are always eager to learn, and embrace all opportunities presented to them. For many students, school is the only place they have the opportunity to work with innovative materials and art supplies, while learning about the world they live in, how to be mindful, caring, and compassionate citizens.
My Project
I will be teaching my students what it means to have compassion with animals. They will also learn about endangered species, and how they can help take care of our planet's animals with kindness. They will learn what it means to be compassionate. The learn to draw books will be used as an additional resource to draw animals. The animal masks will be colored and decorated using the glue sticks with the animal print tissue paper. I'll read the story books to my classes, further teaching students how and why we should take care of animals with compassion. The books will be added to our class collection. The animal stickers will be a neat reward for a job well done.
Your donations for this Art Inspired, Learning Animal Compassion project will encourage my students to be compassionate towards animals, care for them with kindness, and to defend animals that need a voice.
Students will be encouraged to take care of pets with compassion and kindness. That having a pet is a big responsibility. They will also be encouraged to donate what they can to worthy organizations that make a difference in the lives of our beloved animal friends. Every donation counts! No matter how small.
Many students want pets, but do not realize the responsibility involved. They need to learn what Compassion means. We thank you, and the animals thank you as well for contributing to this project to raise awareness, and teach compassion.
