My students need 4 wireless microphones to update our school's closed circuit TV system.

My Students

We have a closed circuit TV station in our school with cameras and microphones that are old and obsolete. The students run the TV Studio and are constantly having to help me fix broken microphones and untangle worn out microphone cables. Old school technology in the 21st century!

My school is a K-5 neighborhood and Title I school.

We have 430 students in Kindergarten through fifth grade classes. Approximately 92% of our students qualify for the free/reduced lunch program. We also have 28% of our students that are classified "Limited English Proficiency." The diversity ratio of the school's K-5 student body is 58% African-American, 31% Hispanic, 4% White, 1% Asian, 1% Native American, and 5% other.

My Project

The VocoPro UHF-5800 PRO 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System offers affordable, multi-channel wireless microphone operation for small performances, presentations, TV Studios, etc. This all-in-one solution features a rack-mountable receiver with replaceable front-loaded receiver modules, 4 individual outputs for flexible external mixing, as well as a mixed output for sending a mixed signal of all 4 mics. The handheld transmitters operate on individual UHF frequencies, allowing for simultaneous operation and 2 AA batteries (each) keep them powered for up to 12 hours. With the addition of this microphone system to our TV Studio, the students will be able to practice real world applications using state of the art equipment. At this time the students write, direct, produce and manage the TV Studio with my assistance. The addition of new equipment would provide them the opportunity to learn and manage a studio that is more like what they would come in contact with in the real world.

In this time of budget cutting and consolidation of schools, our school system is not going to put money into replacing items that are broken or outdated.

The schools with the PTAs that can raise the money take care of their own financial needs. My school does not have that ability at this time. Too many times schools such as mine are left out because the parents do not have the means to raise the money for the school. With your help, you can make a positive change in our school.
