My Students

I teach in a school of predominantly low-income and low-opportunity students. We are a small rural High School with a limited technology budget. As educators and administrators, we are trying to change that limitation through innovative and imaginative funding.

Because of the background and environment that many of our students experience, they also tend to be unaware of the importance of being technology-literate.

We are also trying to change this culture by exposing the students to different technologies and giving them opportunities to work "hands-on" in fields that they might not otherwise consider in

order to foster interests in these fields and, hopefully, help our students find rewarding careers and more open minds.

My Project

Given the emphasis on audio/video technology in media today, and considering the important role that technology plays in finding a rewarding career I feel it is my duty to expose my students to any possible field or experience that might become, for them, a rewarding career.

In order to expose my students to video production as a career, I need professional level editing and recording equipment.

We need a video mixer/switcher and a streaming device in order to create a professional quality studio experience for our students. I have the expertise to use the equipment but I do not have the budget to purchase it.
