Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my room are very diligent students who are constantly striving to gain new understanding and information. Many of them are second language learners and appreciate the benefits of attending a school where academics are of the highest priority. They are always seeking to gain new information and to learn new things. With responsibilities at home that limit their time to explore subjects and to master skills, they appreciate a classroom where they are given liberty to improve in all subject areas. The more materials in the classroom, which help in this area, the more they will learn and improve in all areas. Our school loves to facilitate learning. As their teacher, I want them to love to learn and have the confidence and self-motivation to strive for their best.
My Project
With visual media becoming a necessity to connect a lesson to the world around us, my students' comprehension increases with more stimuli I introduce into the classroom. Many of our lessons, especially concerning nonfiction, involve examples from various sources including videos and music. Using the Bluetooth speaker will allow me to easily and quickly connect to the laptop, allowing our audio to instantly play along with the video representation.
Students enjoy media and seem to connect more to the content of a lesson when they have audio visuals.
We also have many science experiments which need to be stored in cold places, such as produce or liquids needing a specific temperature, and a mini refrigerator in the classroom would allow for this to be more easily accessible. With the necessary science experiments ready in the classroom, we can get on to learning and not waste time gathering from various places around campus.
These items are small in priority, but will help our classroom run more smoothly.
