Our school doors were shut with just a day's notice. We have over 900 students in our middle school who come from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds. I have over 30 of the most at-risk readers and emotionally distraught students in the building.
My students have lost the human interaction that has helped them to achieve success.
Working online through Google Classroom doesn't allow for a needed hug, or calm voice of reason to help them through these difficult times.
My Project
Working from home while students are online has presented many challenges. These charts will allow me to make models and presentation charts that will increase their academic success.
The chart paper will be used to design and create teaching models which I can hang in my home office.
The wide variety of chart paper will provide me a way to demonstrate specific skills. I have 8th graders who need math support, and the grid charts will allow me to model rise over run as well as graphing equations. The line paper charts will allow me to demonstrate models of paragraph writing.
These materials will provide colorful academic support models for my at-risk students.
