My Students
My students are kind, creative, smart, and love to learn! I have a large amount of students who read below grade level. Some of my students have parents that are working and they are in charge of helping to take care of younger siblings (and ensure they complete their work).
They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in our newly established distance remote learning platform. As of March 17th, my students will be learning at home. School will be closed due to the COVID-19 virus for the rest of the school year. This presents a challenge, as most of my students do not have access to supplies in their homes.
My Project
I meet with students on a daily basis and run small groups. I teach phonics, math, and writing on daily Google Meets. I also record myself reading to my students daily. I would love to have access to some more read alouds so that I can continue to connect with my students. I am running out of books to read to them.
I feel strongly about encouraging them to love reading. One way I do this is by introducing them to new series, authors, and books. I would love to keep them reading and interested in books while we are apart.
