I teach in a public 7/8th grade classroom. We see most parents several times a week for drop-off and pick-up. Many of the children come from broken homes and are in the lowest poverty levels. These students are not exposed to much advanced technology. However, there are some very bright students who can have exciting futures if they have the right tools.
My students are creative and love to learn about inventions and coming up with their own modifications to current technology.
Classes range between students who are book oriented to those who are hands-on. These students need to be exposed to as much as possible to be able to provide them with career possibilities.
My students are in confined space where we need testing resources. We are currently starting our chapter on the human body and we are in need of resources. The materials in this project will be used to have hands on studying and exams. Students will not just be tested on paper and pencil, but will have applied application for testing. When students are allowed to feel the parts of anatomy they are studying it allows for a more in-depth learning than just viewing the parts on a screen. Also, when we do have paper tests, I will need to used items to visually seperate students to maintain classroom management.
