Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an awesome group of students who are eager and excited to learn. This is my first year in general education after teaching special education for 21 years. I am eager to provide my students with a fully furnished classroom setting. My students come in each morning eager to settle in. Half of my class is bused to school because their neighborhood school is full. Those students come in excited and eager to help one another and they are always offering to help me.

My Project

Students will be able to access a listening center to learn about setting, characters and number counting to 120. My students are eager to listen to books being read. They are currently taken a story we read as a class and they act out the story with puppets. Then they draw the sequence of events on the story. The final step is writing a response about their favorite part or parts of the story. New books with CD's will add new reading literature to my classroom to continue to engage my students of all reading levels. They are so eager to listen to books on CD when we do our weekly visit to our school library.
