Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Bilingual Kindergarten students are such an enthusiastic group of kids that love to laugh, learn new things every day, help the teacher, share with others and spread love around! Each one of them learns best through the use of a variety of teaching techniques and approaches to help meet their individual needs. They enjoy being challenged despite the challenges they face in their day to day lives.
And when I say they like to help the teacher is because they are so helpful in organizing as much as they can even with the very limited space we have in our classroom for all my 18 students and me.
Since our furniture is very old, my classroom doesn't have space for a bookshelf or book organizer. We have limited space where we can organize students turn-in-work and materials. We also lack of resources such as small boards, a small group teaching easel or flexible seating to make their learning much enriched.
My students would love to have an organized library where they can pick their favorite books as they enjoy new stories and become better readers!
My Project
Please help me give my students 2 lapboard Supply Centers to be used for whole group checks for understanding or Write & Share activities. I’m also requesting a Small-Group Teaching Easel for small group instruction, 4 Flex-Space Wobble Cushions for my students that like to move and wiggle so they can focus while working, and a Turn-In-Your-Work Organizer for my students to turn in their work in an organized way. And lastly but not less important, I would like a Flex-Space Mobile Book Bin Storage Center for my students to have a reading library where they can find the books they most enjoy to read.
For my students, having a well organized and functional learning place with the space flexibility that they need will make a huge difference making them feel more comfortable, engaged and motivated to work and learn!
